Inspiration for the story was literally the Amy Pond figure which I got on 25 June 2010 and it was intended to showcase the new (now complete) TARDIS team.
The script, originally called The Cries Of The Insanities was completed on 25 June 2010
The warehouse scenes were shot first on 26 June 2010 with the bridge following the next day, 27 June. The sets were made using existing bits of set. You will probably notice the struts from the 8th Doctor's console room for example.
Production on the story stalled as Series Five left me underwhelmed. It was only finished because of the new Amelia Pond figure and I wanted to find a way to use her in my stories. I came up with the ending and it was shot on 1 June 2011 - almost a year after everything else!
That final scene and the special effects frames also use the 11th Doctor TARDIS which I didn't have before. For the other scenes I used the Tennant TARDIS, some frames I've photoshopped it to look like the Matt Smith one - but not all. Can you spot the difference?
I didn't like the new TARDIS console room and liked the toy even less, so I didn't buy it.
A pal of mine (Paulie's Toy Photography) who did have the console room set offered to take the appropriate images for me but his camera broke! That's why the Doctor appears photoshopped onto photos of the actual set.
There aren't any references to any other stories but this clearly takes place during Series 5, before Rory joins the gang but after Amy's met River (for reasons that will be obvious later in the series)
